ELON, N.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team defeats Elon 57-45 to end their road stint 2-0 in CAA play.
The Cougars were led by a dominant defensive performance, holding the Phoenix to just 45 points, forcing 23 turnovers.
Zoe McCrary tied her career high with 11 rebounds, while
Jenna Annecchiarico tallied four steals in the matchup to contribute.
Charleston was able to strike first and maintain the lead through the final whistle. While Elon was able to outscore the Cougars in the final quarter, consistency from the charity stripe for
Taryn Barbot sealed the win.
The Cougars were led by
Taryn Barbot, finishing the day with 22 points and six rebounds. Providing a flame to the offense,
Naylee Cortes also tallied double digits with 12 points. Annecchiarico ended with 11 points to secure her eleventh double-digit game in a row.
