Martin Earns Fourth CAA Weekly Award

RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston freshman Jumana Martin was named the Coastal Athletic Association Co-Rookie of the Week Monday.

Martin shared the weekly award with Campbell's Maja Daca.

Martin had an outstanding weekend on the backline for Charleston, amassing 7.25 digs per set on the road. In Friday's win at William & Mary, Martin totaled 25 digs across the three sets to go along with six assists and three service aces. The Fort Mill, S.C., native followed that performance with a career-high 33 digs Saturday afternoon. The freshman leads the CAA with 5.46 digs per set and 311 digs across 14 conference matches.

The award is Martin's fourth of the season, having previously been Co-Rookie of the Week Oct. 6 and Co-Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 13 and Oct. 27.

The Cougars conclude the regular season with a pair of home matches against Elon Nov. 15 and 16. Serve times both days are scheduled for 2 p.m.
