
Hunter Stars on Hill, Offense Swings Way to Win

MT PLEASANT, S.C. – Junior Aidan Hunter allowed one run over 7.0 innings as the College of Charleston beat Seton Hall, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at Patriots Point.
Junior Payton Frehner went 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and 3 RBI as the Cougars picked up its fifth victory of the season. Daniel Brooks and Kevin Samonsky tossed scoreless eighth and ninth innings to hold onto the win.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST SETON HALL:
- Graduate Alex Christie hit a no-doubt two-run homer in the fifth to give Charleston a 3-0 lead.
- The Cougars tacked on two more runs in the seventh on back-to-back singles from Frehner and senior Dylan Johnson.
- Charleston broke the game open in the eighth following a bases loaded walk and two-run single off the bat of Frehner.
- Hunter allowed a hit in the first before retiring 15 straight batters. The senior fanned six batters in seven frames, needing just 84 pitches.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 3-1 all-time against Seton Hall.
- CofC is now 100-8 under head coach Chad Holbrook when allowing 2-or-fewer runs.
- Johnson extended his RBI streak to six straight games to begin the season.
- CofC has hit a home run in three straight games after not hitting a long ball in the opening series.
- The Cougars swiped four bags Saturday, giving them 15 on the year.
- Charleston has outscored its opponents 43-14 in five home games.
