MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball plays host to Winthrop in a midweek contest on Wednesday, March 19 at Patriots Point. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
The game will feature the first WINS-day; nine innings of winnings! Fans who enter the WINS-day raffle will have the chance to win Charleston baseball gear and other prizes.

FIRST PITCH:
- CofC lost its first midweek of the year to South Carolina, 4-3, at Segra Park in Columbia Tuesday evening.
- Sophomore Schley Gordy tallied his first two career hits in the loss, including a two-run single in the seventh to give the Cougars a brief 3-1 lead.
- Charleston's five through nine hitters in the lineup recorded all 10 hits with four of them putting together multi-hit performances.
- Redshirt junior Daniel Brooks made the start for CofC, striking out three in two innings of work.
- Fellow redshirt junior Alex Lyon followed Brooks, tossing 2.1 scoreless frames.
- With the relief appearance, Lyon ties Nick Osterman (2008-12) for eighth all-time in program history with 58 career games out of the bullpen.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston and Winthrop square off for the first time since 2012. The Cougars hold a 9-4 advantage in the all-time series and are 5-2 at home. CofC has won eight of the last nine meetings between the two schools including the last four contests.
UP NEXT:
- Charleston starts Coastal Athletic Association play March 21-23 when it hosts Elon at Patriots Point. First pitches are slated for 6 p.m., 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. with all home games airing live on FloCollege.
