Charleston Travels to Monmouth in First Weekend Road Trip

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – College of Charleston baseball has its first weekend series of the season April 4-6 against Monmouth in West Long Branch, N.J. First pitches from MU Baseball Field are set for 3 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday's contest will broadcast live on FloCollege.

FIRST PITCH:
- Charleston beat Charleston Southern, 14-9, on Tuesday at Patriots Point.
- The Cougars scored nine runs in the sixth inning to break the game open with senior Dariyan Pendergrass and graduate Will Baumhofer hitting back-to-back home runs in the frame.
- CofC scored nine runs in an inning for the first time since March 11, 2015, against USC Upstate, which was also achieved in the sixth inning.
- Graduate Avery Neaves reached base five times in the win, extending his on base streak to 20 straight games. Neaves has reached safely in 25 of the 27 ballgames this season.
- Baumhofer tallied his second career four RBI performance Tuesday, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored.
- Charleston has had three road games this season and have played just one contest outside the state of South Carolina, Feb. 25 at Georgia Southern.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston is 6-0 all-time against Monmouth, sweeping the first two series against the Hawks since the school joined the CAA in the summer of 2022.
- The Cougars have scored double-digit runs in four of the contests and have outscored Monmouth 76-15, including an 18-0 win on April 14 of last season to secure the series sweep.

- CofC concludes the home-and-home midweek series with Charleston Southern on Tuesday, April 8. First pitch from Nielsen Field in North Charleston is scheduled for 6 p.m. with the game airing on ESPN+.
