Charleston Hosts Hofstra for Senior Weekend

MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball finishes the 2025 regular season with a three-game series against Hofstra May 15-17. First pitches at Patriots Point are set for 6 p.m., 4 p.m. and noon. Prior to Saturday's contest, the program will honor 17 members of the senior class.

FIRST PITCH:

Charleston won its final midweek match of the campaign, beating USC Upstate 7-5 Tuesday evening at Patriots Point.
The Cougars went 8-2 on Tuesday's, the most victories on Tuesday in the Chad Holbrook era.
Redshirt junior Ethan Plyler went 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and hit his fifth homer of the year on Tuesday.
Freshman Alex LaCoste continued to swing a hot bat, collecting three hits and three RBI in the victory.
Senior Tyler Sorrentino extended his hitting streak to 11 games, the longest this season by a Cougar.
CofC has scored multiple runs in the first inning in five of the last six ballgames.
Aiken collected his 22nd career save, tying him with William Privette (2021-23) for the fourth-most stops in program history.
Redshirt junior Alex Lyon made his 74th career relief appearance Tuesday, the most by a CofC pitcher in their first three seasons at The College.

SERIES HISTORY:

The Cougars are 19-11 in the all-time series against the Pride and hold a 14-2 record at home.
Charleston's lone contest versus Hofstra in 2024 came in the CAA Tournament, an 8-7 walk-off victory in the Cougars opening game. CofC took two of the three contests at home in April 2023, in the last series between the two schools.

UP NEXT:

With a win against Hofstra, Charleston will earn a berth to the 2025 CAA Baseball Championships, which will be held at Patriots Point May 21-24.
