FIRST PITCH:
- Charleston won its finale series of the campaign, beating Hofstra 11-4 Thursday and 6-2 Friday. The Cougars also closed out the regular season winners of nine of the final 10 ballgames.
- Senior Tyler Sorrentino enters the postseason riding a 14-game hitting streak. The outfielder is batting .340 (18-for-53) with 11 runs, 12 RBI, six stolen bases and seven extra-base hits.
- Freshman Landon Penfield slugged three of Charleston's four home runs versus Hofstra, including a two-homer performance Saturday that included a game-tying grand slam in the bottom of the eighth.
- For his efforts, the third baseman was tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week; his second weekly honor in 2025.
- Senior Dariyan Pendergrass also went deep on Senior Day, his fourth homer of the campaign.
- Pendergrass swiped three bases in the setback, giving him 39 on the year. The senior ranks ninth in the country and 13th with 0.72 stolen bases per game.
- Senior Davis Aiken recorded his 12th save of the year and 23rd career stop last Friday, tying Sam Moore (1992-95) for the third-most career saves in school history.
- Charleston's pitching staff enters the championship fourth in the country with 3.15 walks allowed per nine innings. CofC has allowed three-or-fewer walks in 34 ballgames, including 13 with one walk or less.
CHARLESTON IN THE CAA CHAMPIONSHIP:
- CofC has made a conference tournament for the 26th consecutive season and will be the No. 4 seed for the third time in the CAA Championship.
- Charleston looks to win its second CAA Championship since joining the conference.
- Charleston won the 2014 CAA Championship, winning all three games, including two victories over William & Mary.
- The Cougars have hosted four of the 11 CAA Championships since joining the conference, holding an 18-18 overall record.
- As the No. 4 seed, Charleston is 5-4, tied for the most wins (No. 1 seed: 5-6)
SERIES HISTORY:
- The Cougars are 31-12 all-time against the Tribe and hold a 17-4 record at home.
- Charleston holds a 6-2 record versus William & Mary in the CAA Championship, the most victories against a single opponent.
- CofC took the final two games earlier in the season in Williamsburg by scores of 4-2 and 12-3, sparking a nine-game winning streak.
TICKETS:
- With Seating will include both general admission (Sections 201 and 207) and reserved chairback seating (all other sections).
- Each ticket grants access to all games held on the specified day. Re-entry will be permitted with a valid ticket.
- Per league policy, the seating area beyond the right field fence will be ticketed.
- In addition, students from a participating university will be given free general admission with a valid student ID from one of the competing institutions.
