
Cougs Closes Road Slate at NC A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. – College of Charleston baseball wraps up its road slate with a three-game series against North Carolina A&T May 9-11. First pitches from World War Memorial Stadium are set for 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. All three contests will air live on FloCollege.
Charleston enters the weekend with a 28-19 overall record and 10-11 in the CAA, sitting in sixth place. The Aggies hold a 15-31 record and 9-12 mark in league play, holding ninth.

FIRST PITCH:
- Charleston took the season series against The Citadel with a dominant 14-1 seven inning victory Tuesday evening.
- The Cougars scored 14 unanswered runs including eight in the second inning.
- The eight runs are the second-most scored in a frame this season.
- Senior Tyler Sorrentino extended his hitting streak to seven games with an RBI single in the second. Sorrentino is batting .400 (10-for-25) with eight runs, six RBI, four walks and five extra-base hits over the stretch.
- Senior Dariyan Pendergrass stole his 32nd base of the year, taking sole possession of sixth all-time in a single season.
- Senior Dylan Johnson threw out his 18th would-be base stealer, tying him with Alex Garabedian (2007) for the third-most in a season in program history.
- Charleston has scored 26 runs on 30 hits in its last two contests with 11 of the knocks going for extra bases.
- Tuesday is the first time CofC's offense did not strikeout in a game since March 24, 2018.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston is 11-5 overall against North Carolina A&T and have played the Aggies as the visitor just three times in the series. Back in 2023, the Cougars took the first two games of the set by scores of 16-5 and 16-15 before losing the finale, 3-1.
UP NEXT:
- CofC heads back to Charleston, wrapping up its midweek matchups on Tuesday, May 13 against USC Upstate. First pitch from Patriots Point is scheduled for 6 p.m.
