CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston volleyball handed Hofstra its first loss of the season in a thrilling five set match (25-20, 11-25, 24-26, 26-24, 15-13) Friday evening in TD Arena.

The Cougars pick up their first CAA victory (7-6, 1-2 CAA) while the Pride slip to 9-1 and 2-1 in conference action.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST HOFSTRA:
- Three Cougars tallied career highs in kills with freshman Caroline Noonan tallying 17, sophomore Emma Duffield having 15 and freshman Makena Parthen collecting nine.
- Parthen also had six blocks in the victory.
- Four Cougars had 12-plus digs including sophomore Cole Crews who tied her career high with 16 digs.
- Junior Lauren Dow recorded her third double-double in the last four contests and seventh of the campaign with 49 assists and 12 digs.
- Charleston hit .458 with 12 kills in the fifth set.
- CofC recorded its second block party in the last three matches.

OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 15-12 against Hofstra and have won five straight home matches.
- Parthen has 31 kills over the last four matches and is hitting at least .300 in seven of the last eight contests.
- Noonan has seven games with double digit kills this season.
- Dow's 49 assists were a season-high for the setter.
