Izzy Marinelli tied her career high with 19 kills as College of Charleston volleyball beat Hofstra in five sets (16-25. 25-23, 20-25, 25-20, 15-9) Saturday afternoon in TD Arena.

The Cougars improve to 8-6 and 2-2 in the CAA, handing Hofstra (9-2, 2-2 CAA) its second straight five set loss.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST HOFSTRA:
- Marinelli hit .381 across the five sets, matching her career high with 19 kills and added a service ace, two digs and five blocks.
- Freshman Caroline Noonan recorded a match-high nine blocks to go along with 16 kills and a .333 attacking percentage.
- Freshman Jumana Martin led the defensive attack with 28 digs while freshman Sydney Bates and junior Lauren Dow added in 11.
- Dow tallied her fourth double-double in the last five matches and eighth of the season with the 11 digs and 39 assists.
- Charleston won the second set despite hitting -.031.
- The Cougars hit .378 with 15 kills, forcing the deciding fifth set.
- CofC held Hofstra to a .164 hitting percentage Saturday.

OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 16-12 against Hofstra and have won six straight home matches.
- Dow eclipsed 2,600 career assists in the victory.
- Noonan recorded 33 kills and 13 blocks in the two matches versus the Pride.
- The middle blocker has reached double digit kills and four blocks in eight matches this season, respectively.
- Martin has six contests in 2025 with at least 20 digs.
