MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball kicks off the 2026 campaign with a four-game series versus Rutgers, beginning on Friday, Feb. 13.
First pitches from Patriots Point are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, 1 and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. Sunday. All Charleston home games air live on FloCollege.

FIRST PITCH:
- Head coach Chad Holbrook named junior Hayden Thomas the 2026 Opening Day starter.
- Thomas made nine starts across 18 total appearances in 2025, posting a 2-1 record with a 4.34 ERA in 56.0 innings of work.
- Charleston is 19-1 on Opening Day since 2006 and a perfect 8-0 under Holbrook.
- Redshirt senior Alex Lyon and graduate Davis Aiken were both named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List on Feb. 10. Lyon went 10-1 across 31 relief appearances while Aiken tallied 14 saves for the Cougars in 2025.
- Charleston boasted a league-best seven selections in the Coastal Athletic Association preseason honors. The Cougars were predicted to finish second in the South Division.
SERIES HISTORY:
- CofC faces Rutgers for the first time in program history, joining Illinois as opponents the Cougars have never previously played. 2026 also marks the first time in school history Charleston will play multiple Big Ten opponents in the same campaign.
