LOUISVILLE, KY. – Bronwyn Conroy was named to the NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year Top 25 list Thursday, April 23.
Conroy is the first in program history to be named to the list and is the only CAA representative in 2026.
The freshman leads the Cougars in batting average at .391 through 48 games played. She has scored 42 runs in her collegiate debut season with a team high 61 hits. Conroy has had at least three hits in eight games this season.
The Marietta, Ga. native broke the previous program record for stolen bases in a single season of 30. Conroy has stolen 35 bases of 40 attempted on the season with six more regular season games to play. She is just one of nine to eclipse 30 stolen bases in a single season in the CAA and is looking to become just the fourth player in league history to reach 40. With 35, she currently ranks fifth in league history.
Conroy has earned CAA Rookie of the Week three times in 2026, claiming the title February 10 and 17 for back-to-back honors in the first two weekends of play. She was named Rookie of the Week March 17 following a dominating performance at Campbell where she tallied three hits, four runs, an RBI and two stolen bases.
On May 7, the list will be trimmed to the top 10 and the three finalists will be released on May 20. The winner will be revealed on May 26.
