Biography

On Maurer: Maurer adds depth at the catcher position this season.

2009: Appeared in 32 games with 21 starts, 20 at catcher ... batted .298 with .386 slugging percentage and .420 on-base percentage ... had 17 hits, including a pair of triples, nine RBIs and 11 walks ... posted .985 fielding percentage, committing only two errors in 136 chances ... one of those errors came while playing third base ... posted first career hit vs. UMBC (2/22) and went 1-for-2 with a sacrifice at Samford (3/15) ... finished 1-for-2 with two-RBI triple vs. Western Carolina (3/28) ... followed that performance with 2-for-5, one run, one RBI day  vs. Catamounts (3/29) ... posted 1-for-2, two RBI game at Appalachian State (4/5) ... finished 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI at Furman (4/11) ... was 2-for-2 with two runs, triple, walk, sacrifice and RBI vs. Coastal Carolina (4/15) ... had season-high four-game hitting streak from April 11-18 ... had career-high three hits with 3-for-3, one run, one RBI performance in 4-2 victory over three-time defending conference champion Chattanooga (5/2).

Wabash Community College: Two-year member of a record-setting program at WCC that compiled a 48-5 record in 2008 and finished seventh at the National Junior College Athletic Association National Tournament ... team finished ranked seventh in the final NJCAA poll ... that season, Maurer played in 45 games, finishing with a .352 batting average, 37 hits, seven doubles, four homeruns, 21 RBI and 23 runs scored ... as a team, the program set records for batting average (.404), runs (445), hits (606), triples (19) and tied the 2007 team for the most homeruns with 38 ... the Warriors 48 wins were the second most in program history and their .909 winning percentage ranked third highest ... Maurer helped lead the team on a 33-game winning streak during the year, the second longest in team history ... Wabash claimed its ninth straight Great Rivers Athletic Conference title and won Region XXIV to reach the NJCAA National Tournament ... named to All-Academic Team ... as a freshman, Maurer played in 27 games, finishing with a .395 batting average, 32 hits, 17 RBIs and one homerun as WCC went 38-8 on the year ... earned All-Region recognition following campaign.

Gibson Southern High School:
A four-year starter for the Titans, Maurer was a member of a pair of State Championship teams, a State Tournament Final Four team and a sectional champion ... member 2003 State Championship team that went 29-4, 2004 team that finished 25-3-1 and reached the Final Four of the IHSSA State Tournament ... key contributor on 2005 Titans squad that went 28-3-1 and claimed second State Championship in program history ... named All-Conference following junior and senior seasons ... over first three seasons,  GSHS compiled an amazing 82-10-2 record.

Personal:
Born in Evansville, Ind. on September 22, 1987, Amanda is the daughter of Thomas and Donna Maurer ... the youngest of nine children, family includes sisters Ashlee and Allison ... Ashlee played softball at Missouri Baptist University while Allison played at Wabash Valley Community College and NCAA Division II member Missouri-St. Louis ... currently majoring in communications.
