2008: Played and started 60 games as a junior transfer ... finished season with .255 batting average, 36 hits, 11 RBIs, 30 runs and was 16-of-19 in stolen bases ... the latter two categories ranked second on the team ... lead Southern Conference with 17 hit-by-pitch ... that mark is currently tied for the fifth most for a career in the Charleston record book and is tied for the most in a single season with current teammate Katie Pesature ... her .842 stolen base percentage is the fifth-best for a single season and is sixth for a career ... notched a pair of steals against Kennesaw State on February 24 ... went 1-for-1 with two walks, two runs and only homerun of season vs. East Tennessee State on February 29 ... delivered career-high 3-for-3 performance against Charleston Southern on March 26 ... went 2-for-3 with two runs and a pair of steals vs. Western Carolina on April 13 ... tied career-high with 3-for-4 outing against Elon on May 3 ... that game sparked a four-game stretch in which she went 7-for-11 with a double and three runs ... closed out the season with a 1-for-2, two RBI, two steal performance vs. Elon in the Southern Conference Tournament.

Personal: Born in St. Petersburg, Florida on December 1, 1986, Christal is the daughter of Tom and Sue Kotchman ... family includes a brother Casey Kotchman, who is currently the starting first baseman for Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves ... Casey is currently entering his fifth season in the Majors and his first full season with the Braves ... she is majoring in business marketing.
