
Kennesaw State Tops Cougars, 7-1

Katie Pesature's first career home run wasn't enough to lift the College of Charleston over host Kennesaw State in softball action at the Kennesaw State Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Kennesaw, Ga.
The Owls improved to 12-5 with their 7-1 win, and the Cougars fell to 6-9 on the season.
Kennesaw State's hit parade was led by Huffman who went 2-for-2 at the plate with one run scored, followed by Keasler who was 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and three RBI. Weller, who was 1-for-2 at the plate, scored two runs.
Missy Hobdy gave up five hits and a run, while striking out three in 5 1/3 innings of work to improve to 3-0 in the circle.
Izmena Cabrera went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Cougars's offense, and Shannon Howard and Pesature went 1-for-3.
Shannon Howard fell to 1-5 in the circle, after giving up seven hits on six runs. Katie Sansouci came in at the top of the fourth and gave up three hits, a run and stuck out three.
