PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Damion Lee scored 21 points including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 17.1 seconds left as Drexel held College of Charleston scoreless for the final three minutes to pull out a 53-51 win on Saturday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Lee's fourth trey, from the left wing, made it 52-51 a possession after he committed a turnover that gave the Cougars (6-15, 1-7 CAA) another chance to put the game away, which turned into a miss on the front end of a one-and-one free throw.
CofC missed its last four shots plus a free throw and had a turnover after freshman Cameron Johnson's (Athens, Ga.) 3-pointer at 3:04 gave them a 51-47 lead.
The Dragons (5-15, 3-5) got a free throw from Mohamed Bah with 4.2 seconds left and then sophomore Canyon Barry (Colorado Springs, Colo.) missed a running one-hander from the top of the key as time expired. Barry had 16 points for Charleston, which led 28-22 at the half. Johnson was the only other CofC player in double figures with 11.
CofC will continue its current three-game road stretch in conference play at Towson on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. (ET) in Towson, Md.

POSTGAME QUOTES
College of Charleston Head Coach Earl Grant
On the road loss …
“We weren't making shots down the stretch. We didn't execute. Our zone was good to us, but it came down to us allowing their (Drexel) best player (Damion Lee) to get an open three. If we get a foul, we win. It is humbling right now. For whatever reason, we can't get over the hump. We just have to keep on fighting. I know our guys want to win and they are giving us good effort. It's a weird feeling walking into the locker room after these last three losses. I'm just disappointed. We have to find a way to win these games.”
On the play of freshmen Cameron Johnson and Evan Bailey …
“They did a great job. They made some big shots, knocked them in and showed real confidence today.”
On the consistent play of sophomore Terrance O'Donohue over the last two games …
“He (Terrance) is starting to know who he is and knows he needs to score around the basket. His teammates have been able to find him.”
