COUGAR SOUND BITES
"We are back at home and have one game left in the non-conference against a very good team in Coastal Carolina. Every time we play them, it's competitive. It will be a war and we have to play well. Our guys know it will be a challenge, but we just have to go out and play the game." – CofC Head Coach Earl Grant on closing out non-conference play against Coastal Carolina
"Going into the year, we talked about how tough our schedule was. We knew it would be a challenging schedule, but at the same, knew it was very opportunistic. The better teams that you play, the more opportunity there is. We knew we had some tough road games. We won some and lost some. We knew we had a really hard tournament down in Orlando and we did well there. We brought in quality opponents into our building (TD Arena). We have one more really good opponent coming into that building tomorrow night. We will try to execute our game plan to the best of our ability, but know it will be a challenge." – Grant on being 10-2 on the season despite the tough road of opponents
"We definitely have. For the first couple of games this season, we started off slow. I feel like as a team, we have gotten more comfortable and have had a couple of team meetings in the locker room about what we need to do. Since then, we have turned it up a notch." – Sophomore Guard Brevin Galloway on the team flipping the switch on in the last seven-game stretch
"It was a big one on the road for us. It was one we needed for the program. I know it meant a lot to Coach (Grant). For the team, it was really good for us to know that we could go into that kind of environment and win." – Galloway on what the VCU road win meant for the program
"It helps us out a lot to have him back. He is an experienced guy and a good leader for us. He is also a good leader off the court. He has helped Zep (Jasper) out, because he is playing more comfortable and not having to lead the offense." – Galloway on having Marquise Pointer back in the rotation in the back court
