GAME PREVIEW
The second half of conference play gears up for the College of Charleston men's basketball team (12-9, 6-3 CAA) with a two-game Colonial Athletic Association road swing that starts off at James Madison (8-12, 1-8 CAA) on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. (ET) in Harrisonburg, Va. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. The Cougars, who are currently in a three-way tie for second place in the latest league standings, will wrap-up their road weekend at Towson (12-9, 6-3 CAA) on Saturday. In both teams' last meeting earlier this month, CofC prevailed with an 85-69 victory (+16) on Jan. 4 at TD Arena. This will be the last game the Cougars will play the Dukes inside of the JMU Convocation Center as James Madison gets set to open the new Atlantic Union Bank Center next season. Charleston has won seven of the last eight meetings between the two schools. The Cougars are looking to get over the hump as their last three-straight CAA games have been decided by three points or less – Northeastern (-3), Hofstra (+2) and UNCW (-2). A similar situation for JMU with three of its last five contests coming down to single digits – Delaware (-4), Drexel (-7) and Towson (-8). Thursday's matchup will also pit the second-best scoring offense in the league in JMU (73.9 ppg) versus the third-best scoring defense in CofC (67.8 ppg).
THE BOOK ON JAMES MADISON
The Dukes are looking to end a six-game losing skid in league play since they last played on the road at Charleston. They currently boast the seventh-fastest pace (74.5) in the nation according to the latest KenPom Rankings. Junior forward Dwight Wilson is one of only three players in the league to average double figures in both the scoring (10.6 ppg) and rebounding (10.5 rpg) columns next to Drexel's James Butler and William & Mary's Nathan Knight.

COUGAR SOUND BITES
"There's a lot of season left. We have nine games left to play. We learned from it last week. Hopefully, it built some inner strength in us, understanding we have to show up no matter who we are playing. We know that both teams this week are very capable. There are no easy games in this league, especially on the road." – CofC Head Coach Earl Grant on moving past the UNCW game and entering the second half of CAA play
"I thought our guys were ready to go. We did what we needed to do for the most part. UNCW just made winning plays. We needed to be a little more sound defensively. Not fouling. We had some silly fouls 50-feet away from the basket. We settled for some threes. There were a lot of possessions where we could have taken a better shot. On the flip side, if you make a couple of threes, you win the game. We didn't make those threes and we needed to be driving it more." – Coach Grant on what the team needs to improve on from their last contest
"We play on Thursday and just have to move forward. We can't dwell on what happened. We have two tough road games ahead and we have to be ready. JMU and Towson have always been battles. I know their players will be fired up and our coaches will have us ready and prepared." – Senior Guard Grant Riller on how the team resets after the UNCW loss
"We are all confident in each other. We know we can all make those plays. We didn't capitalize on those plays. We all can make those plays, and down the line, we will make those plays." – Freshman Forward DeAngelo Epps on some of the team's missed three-point opportunities versus UNCW
