GAME PREVIEW
After opening the season on the road at preseason No. 16-ranked North Carolina, the College of Charleston men's basketball team (0-1) returns home to host NCAA Division II Limestone University (0-0) on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. (ET) at TD Arena. It will be a first-time meeting between the two Palmetto State schools in CofC's NCAA Division I era (1991-Present). Both the Cougars and Saints were previously members of the NAIA and last met during the 1988-89 season. In its last outing, Charleston was led by graduate senior guard and preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team honoree Brevin Galloway, who scored a team-high 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the floor and three 3-pointers. While CofC shot better than UNC from the field (40 percent) and long range (34.8 percent), the Tar Heels dominated in the paint (38 of its 79 points) and took advantage of 15 turnovers. Senior big man Osinachi Smart grabbed a career-high 12 of the team's 34 rebounds, which marked the third double-figure rebounding game of his career against UNC's big front court.
A LOOK AT THE SAINTS
Limestone opened the season with an 89-55 road loss at CAA rival James Madison. Both the JMU and CofC games will count as exhibition games for the Saints, who have two NCAA Division I transfers on this year's roster including senior guard Ayo Dada (Bryant University) and junior forward Stephen Edoka (UNC Asheville). Edoka scored 10 points, while freshman guard Isayah Owens drained a game-high 20 against the Dukes. This is the first season for Limestone to play in the South Atlantic Conference after previously being a member of Conference Carolinas, where it won three conference tournament titles and made four NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.
COFC IN SEASON OPENERS
The Cougars are 17-2 all-time in home openers since 1991-92 including a 74-55 victory over USC Upstate last season at TD Arena. In the Earl Grant Era, CofC is 6-0 in home season openers. The UNC game on Nov. 25 was the first time under Grant to open the season on the road.

COUGAR SOUND BITES
"We are excited to play at home. We are just fortunate to play games, home and away, this season. We will learn from the UNC game and continue to improve. We played hard enough to win and it had nothing to do with effort. There are more games and opportunities for us to be a lot better team. We can't wait to play in front of our fans and execute our game plan on Saturday." – CofC Head Coach Earl Grant on returning home to play Limestone after a tough road loss at No. 16 North Carolina
"We are used to short turnarounds. In the conference, in the past, we always played a Thursday and Saturday schedule. We knew we had the Limestone game on our schedule on Saturday. We have watched a lot of film on both of our opponents this week. We will have two (practice on Friday and shootaround on Saturday) opportunities to prepare and we will be ready to go." – Coach Grant on the quick turnaround between the North Carolina and Limestone games this week
"It gives us a big boost. Obviously, we know we can compete against one of the nation's best teams, especially with their size and how we compare with them. It gives a big boost in confidence. Whenever we play against other teams, they won't be the same size. We will look at it with a different perspective and know that if we can compete with UNC, we can show the same fight against other opponents (on our schedule)." – Graduate Senior Guard Brevin Galloway on takeaways from the UNC game going into the next games of the season
