GAME PREVIEW
Final exams are over and the College of Charleston men's basketball team (2-4) travels to Georgia State (5-1) for its final non-conference test of the season on Monday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. (ET) at GSU Sports Arena. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN+. This will be the Cougars' first trip to the Metro Atlanta area since both teams' last meeting (W, 72-66) on Nov. 11, 2006 under former head coach Tom Herrion. With one of toughest non-conference schedules in the Colonial Athletic Association, CofC will face another opponent that could hoist its league's championship trophy in March. The Panthers are currently on a three-game win streak with their lone loss of the season to Mercer (L, 69-86) on Nov. 30. After losing top returning player and preseason All-CAA Second Team selection Brevin Galloway to a season-ending ACL injury against South Carolina State on Dec. 11, the Cougars are looking to rebound from a 76-70 overtime loss to Western Carolina on Dec. 18. In that game, redshirt freshman forward Dontavius King recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Charleston looks to close out the year on a high note.
SCOUTING GEORGIA STATE
The Panthers are coming off a 122-57 victory over Carver College, where seven players scoring in double figures on Dec. 18. It was the third time this season Georgia State scored 100-or-more points in a game. They currently boast the nation's second-best scoring offense averaging 97.2 points per game. GSU also ranks No. 23 in three-point field goals per game (10.3 avg.). The Panthers made headlines after a four-overtime, 123-120 win over in-state rival Georgia Tech in the team's season opener on Nov. 26.

All will have their immediate families in attendance at the game.
COUGAR SOUND BITES
"I hope we continue to see some improvement. The more I think about what has happened the last couple of weeks, as hard as our guys have been working and the attitude they bring into practice, there has been improvement. We just haven't seen the success we want to see. We haven't seen the results we want to see. I want us to continue to improve. Maybe, even play more guys. Guys that have not had some opportunities. Continue to help them develop, to help this team. I want to see good, competitive spirit, some growth and improvement as we finish up this non-conference and get ready for the CAA." – CofC Head Coach Earl Grant on what he hopes to see as the Cougars close out non-conference play at Georgia State
"Coach (Rob) Lanier is doing a great job with the program. (Former) Coach (Ron) Hunter built a great program before leaving for Tulane. Coach Lanier has taken the torch and carried it on. They (Georgia State) have really good guards. They also have really good big guys who play fast. Both present great challenges for us. At this moment, we are dealing with some adversity. We haven't been used to a lot of losing. We have lost a couple of games and we've been disappointed. But, it's another opportunity for us to go and play, grow, compete and try to see if we can be successful." – Coach Grant on the challenge Georgia State presents
"It will be really nice to be back home and have a chance to play in front of my family. I have not seen them in a good minute. Towards my eighth and ninth grade year, I grew up watching Georgia and Georgia Tech. But, I know the Georgia State program has really grown over the years." – Sophomore Guard Brenden Tucker on returning home to the Atlanta area and playing Georgia State
