GAME PREVIEW
The College of Charleston men's basketball team (15-11, 9-5 CAA) continues on the Northern part of its trek through a three-game Colonial Athletic Association road swing next at Northeastern (12-13, 6-7 CAA) on Saturday, Feb. 15 at noon (ET) in Boston, Mass. The early matinee game between the Cougars and Huskies will feature the No. 1 and No. 2 leading scorers in the conference and Top 10 nationally in Jordan Roland of Northeastern (5th, 23.5 ppg) and Grant Riller of Charleston (8th, 22.1 ppg). Both poured in 27 points in their last outings against UNCW and Hofstra respectively. With four games remaining in the regular season, every game is crucial, especially for the Cougars to secure a top seed and first-round bye in next month's CAA Men's Basketball Championship in Washington, D.C. After being a half game back of first place prior to Thursday's matchup with Hofstra (L, 63-76), they are now tied for third with William & Mary with a pair of 9-5 league marks. Delaware jumped ahead of CofC with a road win at Elon. Known for its defense, Charleston forced the Pride into a conference opponent season-high 17 turnovers which resulted in 18 points for the Cougars.
A LOOK AT NORTHEASTERN
The Huskies snapped a four-game skid in conference play with a 71-63 win over UNCW on Feb. 13. Since its three-point win at Charleston on Jan. 16, all but one of Northeastern's six games in that stretch before the meeting with the Seahawks, were decided by a combined 14 points. The defending CAA Tournament champions will close out their regular season with CofC, Delaware, Drexel, James Madison and Towson, while Charleston faces NU, UNCW, Delaware and Drexel in its last four.

WHAT 2 WATCH 4
Grant Riller needs 17 more points to move past former CAA great Justin Wright-Foreman of Hofstra (2015-19) for fifth all-time in career scoring in conference history. Wright-Foreman was drafted 51st overall in last year's NBA Draft and is currently a teammate of former College of Charleston star Jarrell Brantley, drafted 50th overall by the Indiana Pacers (traded to Utah Jazz). Both are two-way players for the Jazz playing for the franchise's NBA G League affiliate – the Salt Lake City Stars – and were named to the Midseason All-NBA G League Team for the Western Conference. Riller currently ranks 10th in career steals (156) and tied for 13th all-time in career assists (349) at The College. He recently recorded his second-straight 100+ assist season (105).
CAA ALL-TIME CAREER SCORING LIST
1. David Robinson (Navy, 1983-87) – 2,669
2. Charles Jenkins (Hofstra, 2008-11) – 2,513
3. Carlos Yates (George Mason, 1981-85) – 2,420
4. John Newman (Richmond, 1982-86) – 2,383
5. Justin Wright-Foreman (Hofstra, 2015-19) – 2,387
6. Grant Riller (College of Charleston, 2016-Present) – 2,371
HOFSTRA RECAP
Hofstra 76, College of Charleston 63
• College of Charleston started Zep Jasper, Grant Riller, Brevin Galloway, Jaylen McManus and Osinachi Smart (5-6). It marked the 11th career start for Smart.
• College of Charleston split the regular-season series with Hofstra. The series is now tied at 7-7.
• Grant Riller led the Cougars with a team-high 27 points at Hofstra. It marked his 15th 20-point outing this season and 47th of his career. He extended his double-digit scoring streak to 54-consecutive games and has now tabulated 2,371 career points to date.
• Brevin Galloway made a career-high six of the team's 11 steals against the Pride.
• Brenden Tucker came off the bench and poured in a career-high nine points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting from the field including one made 3-pointer at Hofstra. He also brought down two rebounds in just 16 minutes of action.
COUGAR SOUND BITES
"It's a want to and it's a mentality. That's always been an area we need to be better. Certainly it hurt us (against Hofstra). We had four offensive rebounds to their seven. In defensive rebounding, they had 27 defensive rebounds. The seven offensive rebounds are more concerning to me. We have to continue to work at it and continue to get this team to believe that we have a chance to play for something real special down the stretch. We have to keep moving forward. We lost to a very good team and we didn't play well enough to win the game, but we will learn from it. We have a quick turnaround for our next game on Saturday at Northeastern, which will be another challenge for us." – CofC Head Coach Earl Grant on the team's rebounding margin against Hofstra
"Brenden played well and did a great job for us. Right now, my bench consists of three freshmen. That's been a challenge. It's the first time in a while, we've been in that situation. I thought Brenden did a really good job of stepping up, being confident and playing the game the right way. He did some really nice things. We need him to continue to try to make those plays, because he is a talented player. We also need our other freshmen to grow up and be more like sophomores here late in the year – continue to attack the basket, make the right plays and take care of the ball. Other than Osi, who started against Hofstra, we need our younger guys to help us on this team." – Coach Grant on the play off the bench from Brenden Tucker at Hofstra
