CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will close out its midweek schedule on Tuesday evening when the Cougars host The Citadel in the fourth and final meeting between the crosstown foes. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Patriots Point.

Game Preview
The Cougars enter the week looking to snap a three-game skid following a series sweep against UNCW over the weekend. The Citadel edged Mercer, 8-7, in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday to end a 15-game losing streak.

Scouting The Citadel
The Bulldogs come into the week with a 12-35 overall record and a 4-22 mark in SoCon action. The Citadel is batting .272 as a team with 33 home runs and 71 doubles.

Ryan McCarthy paces the offense with 10 home runs, 13 doubles and 33 RBI while batting .297. Jeffrey Brown leads the team with a .340 batting average. Tuesday starter Zack Jones is 0-6 in 16 appearances (six starts) with an 8.31 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 34.2 innings pitched.

Charleston leads the all-time series with The Citadel, 55-41. The Cougars have won the last 17 games in the series dating back to the 2014 season.

Last Time Out
The Cougars scored first in each game of the series at UNCW but were unable to hold the lead as the Seahawks staged a pair of eighth-inning rallies on Saturday and Sunday to complete a weekend sweep.

Hammering Hawkins
Senior Harrison Hawkins has been feasting on CAA pitching through the first 21 games of the league schedule batting .443 with a division-best nine homers and 34 RBI in conference action. The Bishopville, S.C. native has eight multi-RBI performances to his credit in league play thus far and accounted for four homers and 12 RBI in six games against William & Mary.

Consistent Contact
Six Cougars are batting .300 or better over the last 10 games including a .409 (9-22) mark for Landon Choboy. He, Hawkins, Ari Sechopoulos, Tanner Steffy, Jared Kirven and Matt Lobeck have combined for a .383 batting average, 13 doubles, eight home runs, 47 RBI and 37 runs scored to account for more than 50 percent of the Cougars' offense in that span.
