CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will conclude its regular season slate this weekend when the Cougars host Colonial Athletic Association foe Elon with the No. 2 seed in the CAA South Division on the line. First pitch for Thursday's series opener is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Patriots Point. The Cougars will honor their 2021 senior class prior to first pitch on Saturday.
Weekend Preview
The Cougars have dropped three of their last five including a series sweep at the hands of UNCW last weekend. Elon has won three of its last four after taking the first two of a weekend series from Georgia Southern last weekend.
Scouting Elon
The Phoenix come into the weekend with a 19-19 overall record and an 8-7 mark in CAA play. Elon is batting .258 as a team with 44 home runs and 58 doubles.
Alex Iadisernia leads the Phoenix with a .362 batting average, 10 home runs and 26 RBI to pace four players with at least 20 runs driven in. Game one starter Brian Edgington is 3-3 on the season with a 3.57 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched over 14 appearances.
