CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will conclude its regular season slate this weekend when the Cougars host Colonial Athletic Association foe Elon with the No. 2 seed in the CAA South Division on the line. First pitch for Thursday's series opener is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Patriots Point. The Cougars will honor their 2021 senior class prior to first pitch on Saturday.

Weekend Preview
The Cougars have dropped three of their last five including a series sweep at the hands of UNCW last weekend. Elon has won three of its last four after taking the first two of a weekend series from Georgia Southern last weekend.

Scouting Elon
The Phoenix come into the weekend with a 19-19 overall record and an 8-7 mark in CAA play. Elon is batting .258 as a team with 44 home runs and 58 doubles.

Alex Iadisernia leads the Phoenix with a .362 batting average, 10 home runs and 26 RBI to pace four players with at least 20 runs driven in. Game one starter Brian Edgington is 3-3 on the season with a 3.57 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched over 14 appearances.

Series History with Elon
Charleston leads the all-time series with Elon, 34-26. The Phoenix have won four of the last five in the series after taking two of three in North Carolina earlier this month.

Last Time Out
All nine members of the Cougars' batting order reached base via a hit and six players drove in at least one run as CofC defeated The Citadel, 10-3, on Tuesday evening to sweep the season series with the Bulldogs. Jared Kirven and Tanner McCallister each homered as the duo combined with Tanner Steffy to each drive in two runs. Jordan Carr tossed six strong innings and Tradd James tossed a scoreless seventh with a strikeout.

Consistent Contact
Six Cougars are batting .300 or better over the last 10 games including an .500 (11-22) mark for Jared Kirven. He, Harrison Hawkins, Ari Sechopoulos, Tanner Steffy, Landon Choboy and Joseph Mershon have combined for a .407 batting average, 15 doubles, nine home runs, 49 RBI and 45 runs scored to account for nearly two-thirds of the Cougars' offense in that span.

Hammering Hawkins
Senior Harrison Hawkins has been feasting on CAA pitching through the first 21 games of the league schedule batting .443 with a division-best nine homers and 34 RBI in conference action. The Bishopville, S.C. native has eight multi-RBI performances to his credit in league play thus far and accounted for four homers and 12 RBI in six games against William & Mary.
