Charleston Invitational Schedule
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston opens its 2022 home softball season this weekend by hosting the five-team Charleston Invitational at Patriots Point.
The tournament, which runs from Friday through Sunday, includes Binghamton, Holy Cross, Lipscomb and Valparaiso.
The Cougars take on Valpo in a doubleheader on Friday at 5:00, face Binghamton (12:00) and Holy Cross (2:30) on Saturday and wrap up play with a rematch against the Crusaders on Sunday at 12:30. Charleston does not play Lipscomb this weekend.
The game against Binghamton will be streamed on FloSoftball. Live stats will be available for all 12 tournament contests. See link above for complete tournament schedule.
Tickets will be required for entry between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free at all other times. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youths 18 and younger.

About the Cougars
Charleston opened the season last weekend in Alabama and claimed wins over Troy and Austin Peay. Jenna Helberg led the way offensively with five hits, including a double and two homers, and drove in four.
Payton Wade and Malaka Belser added two-run shots in a 7-5 victory over the Governors. Wade was joined by Noel Dominguez, Aniz Roman and Jenna Carter with four hits.
Carli McCants won both her starts in the circle, including a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over Troy on Friday. Payton Lemire worked out of a jam in the sixth inning against Austin Peay to pick up a save.

Parking Information
Fans are encouraged to take notice of the following parking information for this weekend's Charleston Invitational. With the Carolina Challenge Cup concluding this weekend and, coupled with Mount Pleasant Soccer in full swing on Saturday and Sunday as well, parking availability, location and cost will vary on a day-by-day basis this weekend.
Friday: The surface parking lots adjacent to the soccer fields and tennis complex will be available for guests coming to baseball and softball at no charge. The grass lot behind the soccer grandstands can be utilized by fans, if needed, for overflow.
Saturday: Fans will be allowed to park in the grass lot for $10 and will also be permitted to utilize any remaining surface lot spaces at no charge. The grass lot will be overseen by the Battery parking staff beginning at 8:00 am and will be a paid option for fans attending baseball and softball.
Sunday: Sunday's parking options will return to normal operations with both the grass lot and surface lots available to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.
