CLEMSON, S.C. --- Trey Pooser and
William Privette combined for 13 strikeouts and held Clemson to two runs on five hits as the College of Charleston dropped a pitcher's duel to the Tigers, 2-1, on Tuesday evening at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars struck first taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on an RBI single by Luke Wood.
- Clemson answered with a two-run third pulling in front on a two-run home run off the bat of Cade Grice.
- The Cougars were unable to convert on several scoring chances late in the game leaving the tying run on third on three occasions.
KEY COUGARS
- JT Marr turned in his fourth consecutive multi-hit game to begin his Cougar career with a 2-for-4 effort.
- Wood went 1-for-4 with his RBI single in the second.
- Pooser went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out seven.
- Privette came out of the 'pen and held Clemson without a hit while fanning six in three innings of work.
- Freshman Tyler Sorrentino reached twice and recorded his first collegiate stolen base.

- Trotter Harlan drew a career-high three walks to extend his reached base streak to 16 games.
