CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston wraps up its 2022 home softball season this weekend with an important three-game series against Towson at Patriots Point.
The teams meet in a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and a single game on Sunday at the same time. Admission is free on Saturday but tickets will be required on Sunday with the box office opening at 11:30 a.m.
The Cougars will hold Senior Weekend ceremonies prior to both games. Noel Dominguez and Jenna Helberg, the longest-tenured members of the program, will be recognized on Saturday. Jenna Carter, Carli McCants and Riley Miller will be honored on Sunday.
Saturday will also be Bark at the Park Day and Kids' Day. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the game but must have a completed waiver (see link above). Kids' Day includes games, autographs and a postgame ball toss in the outfield.
The series will play a huge role in determining what will likely be the fifth and final spot in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships. The Cougars are 4-10 in league play, just ahead of Towson and Drexel (both at 4-11) in winning percentage.
Following this weekend, Charleston is at Delaware and Towson hosts Hofstra to conclude the regular season. Drexel is at Hofstra and home to UNCW to conclude its conference slate. The tournament takes place May 12-14 at Elon.
Delaware leads the CAA with an 11-4 record, followed by Hofstra (9-5), UNCW (9-6) and Elon (8-7). James Madison is 10-5 but not eligible for the postseason after announcing its intention to move to the Sun Belt this summer.
