CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston opens CAA play this weekend with a three-game series against Delaware at Patriots Point.
The Cougars and Blue Hens face off in a Saturday doubleheader at noon and a Sunday single game at the same time. There is no admission charge for either day.
Charleston was picked to finish sixth in the CAA in the preseason poll of conference coaches. Delaware received five first place votes and was chosen second, just four points shy of UNCW.
Due to the Covid-19 cancellation in 2020, the divisional alignment in 2021 and weather issues a year ago, this is the first time the Cougars and Blue Hens are playing since 2019 when Delaware took two of three at Patriots Point.
Charleston holds a 13-7 lead in the series and 5-4 at Patriots Point.
