Charleston, S.C. – College of Charleston hosts UNCW in its final regular season series of the year with the teams playing a doubleheader Friday at 1 p.m. and the finale Saturday at noon at Patriots Point.
Saturday will be a Bark at the Park Day, with fans encouraged to bring their dogs to the game. A waiver must be signed (see link above) or one can be completed at the gate. Proof of vaccination is also required.
With a CAA record of 10-10, the Cougars need two victories to secure their first winning season in conference play since 2017. Charleston is currently in sixth place with the final seedings and first round tournament matchups to be determined following this weekend's action.
The CAA Tournament will be hosted by Hofstra beginning Tuesday in Hempstead, N.Y.
The Seahawks are the defending tournament champions and are locked in a battle for the regular season title. UNCW is currently in second place with a 15-6 record, trailing Delaware (15-5) and leading Hofstra (13-7) and Elon (12-7).
Delaware hosts Hampton, Hofstra is at Drexel and Elon plays at NC A&T this week in the chase for the top two spots and a double bye in the tournament. Monmouth plays at Stony Brook with the winner of that series taking the final spot in the eight-team event.
In addition to Charleston and the top four teams, Towson and NC A&T have also wrapped up postseason berths.
The Cougars hold a narrow 30-29 lead in the all-time series against UNCW, but the Seahawks have won eight of the past nine including two of three last season in Wilmington.
