Cougars Split Day One of Bubly Invitational

The Cougars struck first in the bottom of the first against the Eagles when Shealyn Starks hit an RBI double.
Halle Cannon walked with the bases loaded in the third, and Sierra Paradis followed up with a two-run double through the left side to take a 4-0 lead.
Savannah Lockhart drove in Starks for the final run off a fielder's choice in the fifth to secure the Cougars' win.
Payton Lemire pitched a complete game, only allowing one run off a solo home run in the fourth.
Caroline Conner retired the first 13 batters in a pitcher's duel with the Ramblers, but a grand slam in the sixth proved to be the difference in her first loss of the season.
Charleston will face Loyola Chicago and Florida on Saturday for day two of the Bubly Invitational. Game times are set for 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
