Cougars Start Busy Week Against Coastal Carolina

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston begins a stretch of six home games in five days on Wednesday when the Cougars host longtime non-conference rival Coastal Carolina at Patriots Point. First pitch is set for 2 p.m., and admission is free.
Following a day off, the Cougar Classic begins on Friday with Oakland, Princeton and South Carolina State in town for the three-day tournament.
The Cougars and Chanticleers have met 75 times with Coastal holding a 50-25 lead in the series. The teams have played every season since the start of the Charleston program in 1993 except for the 2020 and 2022 campaigns.
Charleston (3-4) split two games at the Bubly Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., last weekend with a win over Georgia Southern and a loss to Loyola Chicago. Three other games, including two against host Florida, were rained out.
Coastal (4-4) began the season with home wins over Syracuse, George Washington, Bucknell and Campbell before dropping four games including three against power conference schools at The Spring Games last weekend in Leesburg, Fla.
