Cougars Make First-Ever Trip to Hampton for CAA Series

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston visits Hampton this weekend for a CAA series that finds a pair of teams looking to work their way up the conference standings.
The Cougars and Pirates play at 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon on Sunday. This is Charleston's first trip to Hampton in program history.
Both teams are off to 1-5 starts in CAA play. The Cougars won one of three at Delaware and were swept by Stony Brook last weekend. The Pirates lost all three to UNCW before taking one against Monmouth.
Charleston is 8-0 against Hampton including a three-game sweep last season at Patriots Point in the first meeting as CAA opponents. Payton Lemire won twice in the series including a two-hitter in a 3-0 victory in the middle game.
The Cougars return home next weekend for three games against Elon.
