TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – College of Charleston enjoyed a successful conclusion to its weekend at the Dugout Club Classic, riding a season-high 14-hit attack in a 9-1 run-rule win over Mercer on Sunday.
Austy Miller had the first four-hit game for a Cougar this season including a home run in the sixth to cap the offensive surge.
Julia Sitterding added three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Game Summary
- The Cougars wasted little time in jumping out to a 3-0 lead with four of the first five batters getting hits.
- Following a Jay Wrightsman double, Julia Sitterding, Sierra Paradis and Austy Miller delivered RBI singles.
- Kaytlin Stacey and Miller singled in the third, and the pair executed a double steal with Stacey scoring to make it 4-1.
- Charleston kept the hits coming in the fourth, starting with a triple by Leela Langston and RBI bunt single by Halle Cannon.
- A sacrifice fly by Paradis followed by a run-scoring single from Gracyn Hyatt upped the advantage to 7-1.
- Sitterding singled in a run in the fifth, and Miller launched a solo shot to right in the sixth for the final Charleston runs.
- Ryley Kutter was the beneficiary of the Cougars' highest scoring game of the year, allowing only three hits in a complete game outing.

The Cougars remain on the road next week with a pair of games in Spartanburg, taking on USC Upstate on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and Wofford on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
