CHARLESTON, S.C. – Two teams in the hunt for berths in the CAA Tournament meet this weekend in Hempstead, N.Y., when College of Charleston visits Hofstra.
The series begins on Friday at 5 p.m. followed by games on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon. All three games will be streamed on FloCollege.
The Cougars enter the weekend in fifth place in the CAA with a 12-6 record, two games ahead of Hofstra and three in front of UNCW. The top six teams at the end of the regular season advance to the CAA Tournament on May 7-10 in Buies Creek, N.C.
Campbell is in first place at 15-3, one game in front of Delaware and Elon and two clear of Stony Brook.
The Cougars have been dominant at home in conference play with an 11-1 record but must find a way to win on the road to secure a playoff spot. Charleston has dropped five of six away from Patriots Point with three of those losses coming by one run.
Overall the Cougars have won 17 of their last 25 games to draw even at 22-22, the first time they have been at the .500 mark this late in the season since the end of the 2018 campaign.
Hofstra got off to a slow start in CAA play but has won nine of its last 12 including series wins over Campbell, Delaware, Drexel and UNCW. The Pride holds an 18-9 lead over the Cougars and have won 10 of the last 13, including two of three at Patriots Point last May.
