Chad Holbrook picked up his 450th career victory and 250th with the Cougars as College of Charleston baseball beat Georgia Southern, 8-3, Wednesday evening at Patriots Point.

CofC (25-18) swept the season series against the Eagles (24-21) and improved to 6-1 against Sun Belt teams in 2025.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST GEORGIA SOUTHERN:
- CofC broke the contest open in the fourth, sending nine players to the dish.
- Seniors Tyler Sorrentino and Ben Venables collected back-to-back RBI knocks for the 3-1 lead before freshman Landon Penfield capped off the frame with a two-run double for the 6-1 advantage.
- The Cougars tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the sixth and eighth off a senior Dylan Johnson sacrifice fly and redshirt junior Ethan Plyler RBI groundout.
- Senior Aidan Hunter earned his fifth win of the season, tossing two scoreless frames out of the bullpen.
- Senior Garrick Murray, freshman Hunter Phipps and senior Davis Aiken each tossed scoreless innings to close out the contest for CofC.

OF NOTE:
- Charleston improves to 41-39 against Georgia Southern in the all-time series and 22-13 at home. The Cougars have also won six of the last seven ballgames versus the Eagles.
- CofC picked up its 20th home victory, earning at least 20 wins for the fourth consecutive year.
- CofC has worked at least six walks in 17 contests in 2025.
- Charleston has recorded 10-or-more wins in the month of April for the fourth straight campaign.
