GREENVILE, S.C. – Freshman Jake Amman capped off a four-hit day with a walk off single in the bottom of the tenth to give College of Charleston baseball an 8-7 victory over James Madison Friday evening at Fluor Field.

Charleston improves to 4-6 overall and earned its second walk off win of the year.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST JAMES MADISON:

Charleston grabbed a 3-1 advantage in the bottom of the third following a bases loaded walk from sophomore Landon Penfield before two runs scored on a JMU fielding error.
CofC extended its lead in the fourth thanks to RBI knocks from Amman and graduate Dylan Johnson.
The Dukes scored runs in four straight innings to take a 7-5 lead.
In the eighth, graduate Will Tippett hit a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit in half.
In the bottom of the ninth, Johnson came up clutch, singling home Amman to level the game at seven all.
Following a scoreless top of the tenth from graduate Kurt Rogers, Amman sent a 1-2 offering through the left side of the infield to bring home senior Payton Frehner and seal the walk off victory.
Freshman Carter Harrington tossed 5.0 innings of no-decision baseball in his first career weekend start. The righty yielded three runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out three.
Redshirt sophomore Ryan Hench punched out two JMU batters in the top of the ninth for CofC.

OF NOTE:

Charleston improves to 25-10 versus James Madison and has won seven of the last eight ballgames. CofC won the first neutral site contest between the schools.
Amman earned his first career four-hit game after having three hits Wednesday against ECU.
Rogers picked up his second victory of the campaign.
Johnson had his third multi-hit game and second multi-RBI contest of the year.
Charleston is 4-1 in its last five extra inning contests.
