
Softball Falls to Georgia State Sunday Afternoon

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The College of Charleston dropped the final game of the three-game series against Georgia State 7-0 Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars are now 8-11 and 1-2 on the weekend.
CRITICAL POINTS

Austy Miller had Charleston's first hit of the day in the bottom of the first and stole second before being caught stealing at third.

Down 1-0 in the top of the second, Campbell Schaen held the Panthers scoreless through the inning and struck out one.

In the bottom of the fourth, Leela Langston singled up the middle with two outs, but the Cougars could not connect.

Ryley Kutter entered the circle in the top of the fifth before the Panthers added two more to make the score 5-0.

Kutter prevented the Panthers from adding any more runs in the top of the sixth striking out one.

Georgia State scored two runs in the top of the seventh to leave the final score 7-0.

Charleston had four hits Sunday afternoon with Langston collecting two of them.

Schaen and Kutter pitched against the Panthers.

Charleston travels to Wofford Tuesday, March 3 to play the Terriers at 6 p.m. The Cougars will remain on the road to play Clemson Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m.

Charleston softball will return home to begin conference play against Monmouth Friday, March 6. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
