MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball lost 5-2 to Georgia Southern Wednesday evening at Patriots Point.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST GEORGIA SOUTHERN:
- Georgia Southern plated a run in the first and second for an early 2-0 lead.
- The Eagles doubled their lead in the fourth to make it 4-0.
- Charleston responded in the sixth with a two-run frame.
- Redshirt sophomore Jackson Berini served a 1-0 offering down the left field line to plate sophomore Alex LaCoste.
- Later in the frame, graduate Reece Holbrook singled up the middle to cut the Eagles lead in half.
- Georgia Southern tacked on an insurance run in the eighth to help secure the win.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 41-40 against Georgia Southern in the series.
- LaCoste extended his hitting streak to a team-best 10 games with a single in the sixth.
- Johnson tied Erven Roper (2014-17) for the program record with his 42nd runner thrown out.
