MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball begins Coastal Athletic Association play against Hofstra March 6-8 at Patriots Point. The series, which was originally scheduled to be played in Hempstead, N.Y., was changed to Charleston due to weather and field conditions. The game times are 4 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Hofstra is the home team for all three contests.

FIRST PITCH:
- Charleston enters conference play with a 5-7 record having beat Presbyterian Tuesday at home by a score of 6-3.
- Graduate Will Tippett launched his first homer as a Cougar, a 386-foot two-run shot in the eighth.
- Redshirt junior Carson Bryant and sophomore Parker Sweeney each tossed a pair of scoreless frames to begin the game, combining to fan six Blue Hose batters.
- Redshirt senior Alex Lyon collected his eighth career save, tossing the final 3.0 innings. Lyon has recorded at least six outs in 41 of his 82 career outings.
- Freshman Jake Amman went 2-for-5 with a double and run scored in the victory, giving him five consecutive games with a hit in his first at bat, including the last three in the leadoff spot of the batting order.
- Freshmen Carter Harrington and Jace Stancil are scheduled to start Friday and Saturday for Charleston, respectively. Charleston is the only CAA school who has had multiple true freshmen start on the mound in 2026.
SERIES HISTORY:
- CofC holds a 21-12 record against Hofstra and are 16-3 at home. Last season, the Cougars took two of three from the Pride at Patriots Point in the final regular season series of 2025. Charleston has plated double-digit runs in eight ballgames versus Hofstra.
UP NEXT:
- CofC heads to the Upstate for a midweek matchup with Wofford on Wednesday, March 11. First pitch against the Terriers is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the game airing live on ESPN+.
