BALTIMORE, Md. – College of Charleston's Willis Hall (Charlotte, N.C.) was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team on Thursday night at the league's pre-tournament awards banquet.
Hall, a graduate senior, currently leads the Cougars in scoring (12.2 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg) which also ranks 11th-and third-best in the league. He has posted nine double-doubles this season and was named USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week in January – the first player in school and conference history to receive such an honor. A two-time CAA Player of the Week selection, Hall ranks 27th all-time in career scoring (1,137) and seventh all-time in career rebounding (829).
Junior big man Adjehi Baru (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) was tabbed to the CAA All-Defensive Team swatting a career-high tying season-best 44 blocked shots which is tied for third-best in the league. He also ranks seventh among CAA rebounders averaging 7.9 boards per game.
Redshirt freshman guard Canyon Barry (Colorado Springs, Colo.) earned a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team averaging 9.6 points per game which is second-most among league freshman. A physics major, he was also honored on the All-CAA Academic Team along with Willis Hall, who graduated last May with a bachelor's degree in business administration and is currently pursuing a master's degree in communication.
Seniors Willis Hall, Nori Johnson (Greer, S.C.), Anthony Thomas (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and Judson Hall (Charlotte, N.C.) were also recognized for their college careers at the banquet. Johnson, Thomas and Hall will graduate on time in May with bachelor's degrees in sociology and religious studies respectively.
The postseason awards were voted on by the league's head coaches, media relations directors and members of the media. CofC will open tournament play on Saturday, March 8 against William & Mary in the quarterfinals set for 8:30 p.m. (ET) at Baltimore Arena.
