Cougars Head to Savannah for Twinbill with Tigers

Charleston, S.C. – The College of Charleston softball team heads down I-17 for a Tuesday doubleheader at Savannah State beginning at 3 p.m.
The Cougars are 15-15 after dropping two of three to Hofstra in their first Colonial Athletic Association series of the season last weekend at Patriots Point. The Tigers are 3-17 and 0-3 in the MEAC.
Four Cougars are over the .300 mark, a quartet led by Madi Brown at .355 including nine doubles, tied with Lexee Emanuel for the team lead. That duo is followed by Yari Felix (.333), Gracyn Thrasher (.323) and Kelly Sinclair (.304).
Emanuel tops the team with 16 RBI while Thrasher and Chandler Sparkman both have three home runs. Dexlie Inman leads the Cougars with 16 runs scored, and Felix is 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts.
Savannah State's Stacie Smith leads the team in several offensive categories, including hits (26), batting average (.441), runs (13) and stolen bases (15 in 16 attempts). Jocelyn Lozano is batting .342 followed by Peyton Mitchell at .320 with team-leading totals of three homers and 11 RBI.
Charleston has won all 10 games in the series including six in Savannah. This is the first meeting since the Cougars won twice at the Lady Tiger Classic to start the 2016 season.
