
Cougars, Phoenix Square Off in CAA Series at Patriots Point

Charleston, S.C. – The College of Charleston and Elon will square off in a Colonial Athletic Association series this weekend at Patriots Point. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 4:00 and a single game on Sunday at noon.
Video and live stats will be available for all three games with links on the Charleston softball schedule page. Single day tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for youth 18 and under, and a weekend pass can be purchased for $12 for adults and $5 for youth. Charleston faculty, staff and students will be admitted free with a valid school ID. A clear bag policy is in effect at Patriots Point.
Saturday is the first Bark at the Park Day, with fans encouraged to bring their dogs with them to the game. All dogs must be registered at the main entrance. A Hula Hoops for Pups contest will be held during the first game of the doubleheader.
The Cougars are 17-18 overall and 2-4 in the CAA after dropping two of three last weekend at Drexel. Jenna Helberg had five RBI including a grand slam in an 11-2 win in the series opener and has moved into second place on the team with 14 runs driven in, six behind fellow catcher Lexee Emanuel.
Kelly Sinclair had a strong weekend with her first two home runs of the season and is batting .317 on the season, second on the team to Yari Felix's .333. Madi Brown (.315), Emanuel (.305) and Gracyn Thrasher (.301) are also over the .300 mark, with Thrasher tied with Chandler Sparkman for the team lead in homer with three.
Elon is 19-14-1 and 3-3 in the CAA including a win in its opening conference series against then-No. 19 James Madison. The Phoenix won two of three against UNCW last week and also owns a win over a Georgia team that was ranked eighth in the nation at the time.
Ally Repko paces the Phoenix lineup with 16 extra base hits including 10 doubles, four home runs and 17 RBI, tied for the team lead with Rebecca Murray. Callie Horn has also gone deep four times, and Keagan Goldwait and Erica Searfini have 16 RBI.
Abby Barker ranks second in the CAA with 11 wins and third with 97.0 innings pitched. She has a 2.38 ERA and 47 strikeouts.
