CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team looks poised to challenge for the program's second CAA Tournament championship and 16th league title overall after sweeping Elon last weekend to earn a spot in this weekend's 2020 Colonial Athletic Association Championship. The Cougars are the No. 2 seed in the CAA South Division and will face the North Division's top seed, Towson, in the first semifinal on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars swept back-to-back matches from Elon last weekend to book their ticket to this weekend's championship, including a straight-set sweep on Saturday behind a 15-kill performance from sophomore Lexi Wierzbicki. She and senior Hazel Brown each put down 15 kills on Sunday to help the Cougars celebrate Senior Day with a 3-1 victory.
THE OPPONENT
Towson enters the championship as the top seed in the North Division with a 4-0 overall record and a 2-0 mark in CAA play.
