MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – James Madison pitchers Alissa Humphrey and Odicci Alexander worked a total of 11 hitless innings to lead the No. 24 Dukes to 8-0 and 9-0 victories over College of Charleston in a CAA doubleheader Saturday at Patriots Point.
Humphrey allowed three base runners in game one including walks to Aniz Roman and Shealyn Starks and an error. She struck out seven and was backed by a 13-hit attack and four RBI from Madison Naujokas.
Alexander was dominant in the nightcap, retiring all 15 batters she faced with 14 coming on strikeouts. She also homered and drove in four runs to support her own cause.
The teams wrap up their series with a single game Sunday at noon. Following the game, the Cougars will honor senior pitcher Kylie Burke.
