Charleston, S.C. – College of Charleston plays its first CAA series in two weeks when the Cougars visit Drexel for a doubleheader Friday at 2 p.m. and a single game Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Cougars are making a quick turnaround after splitting a doubleheader at Charleston Southern Wednesday night. Aniz Roman was the hitting star in a 4-3 win in the opener with her first career home run, two doubles and two RBI.
After Payton Lemire earned her third-straight win, Caroline Conner also tossed a complete game and allowed only two hits but came out on the short end of a 2-1 verdict.
Charleston has won two of three series to begin conference play, winning twice against Delaware and sweeping Hampton. Drexel won its first CAA series against North Carolina A&T but has since lost five in a row to Stony Brook and Towson.
The Cougars hold a 15-9 lead over Drexel, with all but one of the games taking place since joining the CAA in 2014. The Dragons won two of three last season at Patriots Point.
