Cougars Drop Twinbill to Marshall

Game 1
- The Cougars jumped out to a 2-0 lead on an RBI double by Karly Smith in the second and a run-scoring single by Kaytlin Stacey in the third.
- Marshall tied it in the top of fourth, but Smith got her second RBI of the game on a groundout in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2.
- The Thundering Herd scored five runs over the fifth and sixth innings to take a 7-3 lead.
- Sierra Paradis got her second hit of the game in the sixth with her double making it 7-4.
- Stacey joined Paradis with two hits, and Karlee Hughes scored two runs.
- Jay Wrightsman had a hit, stole a base and scored a run while making three outstanding plays in center.
- Marshall scored eight times in the first in completing the sweep.
- The Cougars scored all three of their runs in the fifth including RBI by Wrightsman, Paradis and Audri Bates.
- Hailey Seymour pinch hit in the fifth and picked up her first career hit.
The teams complete their three-game series on Saturday at noon.
