Cougars Drop Decision to Queens

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston lost to Queens, 3-0, on Tuesday at Patriots Point.

The Cougars continue their 14-game homestand when they host the Lowcountry Classic beginning with contests on Friday against Dartmouth at 3:00 and Rhode Island at 5:30.

Game Summary
- The Cougars threatened in the first with singles by Jay Wrightsman and Kaytlin Stacey.
- Leela Langston singled in the second for the freshman's first career hit.
- Queens scored the only runs of the game on a three-run homer in the third.
- Campbell Schaen relieved starter Kendall Thackston in the fifth and escaped a two-on jam with a strikeout.
- Schaen went on to retire the Royals in order over the next two innings including two more strikeouts.
- The game was the first-ever meeting between Charleston and Queens in softball.
