Softball Loses to Purdue and Yale

ATLANTA, GA. – College of Charleston softball lost to Yale, 7-3, and Purdue, 8-6, in the final day of the I-75 Tournament hosted by Georgia Tech.
The Cougars are now 7-9 on the season.

- Down 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Leela Langston and Hailey Seymour scored on consecutive errors by Purdue to trail by just one run.
- Purdue added four more runs in the top of the fifth while Charleston responded by Langston singling to right center to allow Bronwyn Conroy to run home from second base.
- Charleston added three runs in the bottom of the seventh from Abby Driscoll, Austy Miller and Conroy, but it was not enough to come back leaving the final score 8-6.
- To start the game, Yale hit a home run, but Charleston added to the scoreboard early too when Conroy scored following Langston's at bat to level the game at one.
- Miller earned her second run of the day in the bottom of the third to make the score 3-2.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Conroy tied the game again on an RBI groundout by Miller.
- Yale tacked four more runs across the remaining innings to win the game 7-3.
- Conroy had four runs on the afternoon and three hits.
- Jules Raymond pitched 4.1 innings Saturday.
- Langston had four combined RBI against Yale and Purdue.
- Charleston returns home to host Georgia State for a three-game series that begins on Friday, February 27 at 5 p.m. from Patriots Point.
- Friday's game will feature a Rally for the Season promotion.
