
Softball Hosts Georgia State for Weekend Series

MT PLEASANT, S.C. – Charleston softball hosts Georgia State for a non-conference three game series at Patriots Point this weekend.
The first pitch of the weekend is scheduled for Friday, February 27 at 5 p.m. Friday's game will feature a Rally for the Season promotion with Charleston softball branded towels and team posters as giveaways.
Saturday's game is set to begin at 2 p.m. and Sunday's is set for 12 p.m. Sunday will kick off the first of four Signature Sundays where the team will be available post game to sign posters.
Charleston holds a 7-9 record entering the weekend while Georgia State is 10-6.
Through three weekends of tournaments and one mid-week, freshman Bronwyn Conroy leads the CAA in five categories, including hits (23), runs (18), and stolen bases (15). Conroy has a .411 overall batting average and has started in all 16 games in her debut season.
Junior catcher Leela Langston leads the Cougars with a .447 batting average. She has started in all 16 games for Charleston and has nine runs and 21 hits.
In the circle, Mackenzie Mathis has pitched two complete games, winning both contests and has a 3.86 ERA on the season. Mathis leads the CAA in strikeouts with 37.
Charleston has played Georgia State twice before in program history. This will be the first time Georgia State has traveled to Charleston to play at Patriots Point and the first time since 2001 that the teams have played.
