
Softball Begins Mrowka Era Hosting the Charleston Invitational

MT PLEASANT, S.C. – The College of Charleston softball team and first year head coach Maggie Mrowka open the 2026 softball season February 6-8, hosting Marist, Central Michigan, Siena, St. Johns and George Mason at Patriots Point in the Charleston Invitational.
The tournament kicks off at 10:00 a.m., and Charleston will play its first game at 3:00 p.m. against Marist. Immediately following, the Cougars host George Mason at 5:30 p.m. to conclude the first day of the tournament.

Pitcher Mackenzie Mathis enters her sophomore season after being named to the Preseason All-CAA team. Mathis returns as the Cougars' top pitcher with a 2.70 ERA. She started in 25 games and played in 26 while pitching the most innings of any Cougar with 137.1.
For her senior season, Austy Miller returns with the highest batting average for the Cougars (.345) and started in all 56 games in 2025. Miller had 33 runs and two home runs as a junior while driving in 25 RBI.
