
Langston Hits Third Straight Walk-Off; Cougars Move to 3-1

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Leela Langston's clutch gene continued Saturday with a pair of walk-off hits in the second day of the Charleston Invitational.
Langston singled home the winning run in CofC's first game to defeat Siena, 5-4, before tallying her third straight walk-off single to beat St Johns in the nightcap, 6-5.

- Down four in the bottom of the fourth, Hailey Seymour tripled to deep right with Leela Langston on second, securing the first run of the inning for the Cougars.
- Cutting the Saint's lead in half, Lily Thorpe doubled down the left field line sending Seymour home for her second run of the Charleston Invitational.
- Freshman Bronwyn Conroy brought the Cougars within one in the fifth, scoring from second after Langston doubled to deep left field.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Seymour again came through for her second home run of the season to tie the game 4-4. With a tie game and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Langston singled up the middle for her second straight walk-off of the early season to send Austy Miller home and secure the victory for Charleston.
- Campbell Schaen earned the start in the circle, pitching 4.0 innings and striking out five Saints. Erin McDaid made her collegiate debut pitching 3.0 innings allowing just one hit and facing 10 batters.
- Sally Trent hit her first career home run Friday evening against St. Johns with Halle Cannon on third to respond to the Red Storm ending the inning 5-2.
- Langston singled to left field with Conroy on third to earn her third career run in the bottom of the third. The Cougars added two more runs to end the inning on a Seymour RBI to send Miller home and a Red Storm error to tie the game.
- Ryley Kutter and Jules Raymond combined for five straight innings holding the Red Storm scoreless.
- With a tie game in the bottom of the seventh, Langston singled to right field with Conroy on third to record her third straight walk-off on the season and securing Charleston's 5-6 victory.
- McDaid earned her first career win in the circle against Siena. Raymond joined McDaid, recording her first win as a Cougar against St. John's.
- Langston recorded three straight walk-offs over the weekend in Cougar wins against George Mason, Siena and St. Johns. Three of Langston's eight hits this season have been walk-offs.
- The Cougars return to Patriots for the final game of the Charleston Invitational against Central Michigan.
- The game is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. with free admission. The contest will be broadcasted live on FloCollege.
- Central Michigan holds a 2-2 record at the Charleston Invitational.
